What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Woo-hoo!

But: LOL - "Oil leak" Well okay then. You ever see a Duratec without an oil leak Mr. MOT Man?

I dont think he quite understood a ratchet handbrake system but I got there in the end ;) dont want to do any brake work for a while now though!

Now ive got my piece of paper for the year time for some fun stuff..time to get my lowering springs on and decat I think :devilish:

It's kind of a joke - generally speaking any Cougar used on a daily basis will be leaking something from somewhere. Rovers were notorious for it too; the joke was that the dealer would say, "It's a Rover, sir. They all do that."
As a helicopter crewman told me while I was deployed in the army I guess. Youre ok as long as its leaking. Its when it stops that theres gonna be a problem

Is that a new panel your welding in?

I think they get condensation off the ac confused with Oil thats normally whats dripping..have to remember not to have the ac on before I go next year..

I did this.

I don't know just how useful it will be, but it's kind of cool.

I also have a spare camera feed to it, so might replace the nearside mirror glass with a camera. Or something. Who knows?

The new civics have a camera in the bottom of the passwenger side mirror that comes on when you turn the blinker on. Its nice for checking your blind spot before lane change. Maybe do something like that

Not exactly to the Cougar, but something I've been meaning to do since recently reading about 'dashboard diagnostic mode' (holding in the trip computer top+bottom buttons whilst starting).

I installed the android dash-cam app 'AutoBoy' on my phone, and placed it so as to view the data LCD in the instrument panel.
I set it recording and drove at several steady speeds from 30km/h upto 150km/h.

The app speed resolution is 1km/h and the dashboard is 0.5km/h, and I'm running on part-worn standard sized tyres.

The dashboard consistently under-reads by 1%, ie. at a GPS/app display of 50, the LCD shows 49.5

I had intended to also film the dial but was't able to position the device for that; on previous observations it reads about 8% over the LCD.

I am surprised at how close the LCD reading is to the GPS.
