What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Tried to fit my snazzy cup holder. It didn't go so well. 
Basically it appears that there are actually two different models of centre console. It looks like the pen holder should just pop out (there's a seam and everything) but it doesn't. Took the console out and flipped it over (thanks for teaching me the trick of getting the handbrake vertical, Al!) and discovered that the two sections (made of two plastics) are actually heat-welded. Now I could saw it apart, but that leaves the problem that there's no structure under there to bolt the cup holder to.
Which is why I think there's two different versions of the console.
Ran out of time today, but I'm pretty sure I can fabricate something in the future.

Chris, the earlier Mk1 Mondeo consoles had the removable pen holder section.

I've just been out to the shed as I thought I'd got a mk1 mondy one, but as far as I can see it must be a later one. Berk!

Just got back from Dads and read this so went to check the old insert i have in the cave. Sorry mate, it's the one peice one but i know i did have the earlier type console with the pop out pen holder. Maybe it's in S97?

Ooh forgot to say when I posted this pic up, that I have managed to clean up the rear roof panel after losing the top rear eyebrow spoiler last year. You can't tell it was even there. I used a fluted toffee wheel to remove all the tiger seal.
Good lord that's beautiful. I can only hope that excellent photography is hiding defects. Because if it's not, I have a lot of catching up to do. Either way you should be very proud.
