Spent the day cleaning inside and out, got finger nails full of green colour magic.

Spent the day clay barring, washing and polishing my coug. Also did the plastics and also blacked the tyres....I must say she is looking sweet. Unfortunately, with the rain down here tomorrow afternoon won't help, hopefully most of it will bead off....I mean she's had plenty of polish and wax.
Also meant to say that I was going to fit my chrome battery cover that's been sat in my garage for.....some years...Oops! Anyway, Mart sent me a bracket so I could fit the cover.....only to find the bracket is too wide, so won't fit. I will have to contact Mart and give him the measurements I need. Those going to Combe - I'll show you what I mean.
Been stuck in meetings all day so ive not even washed it, i feel so ashamed
So balaclava needed tomorrow then.
Shamefully, I still need to do mine too. What have you backed it with to avoid connecting with the terminals? I've been 'getting round to' sourcing something for mine ever since whenever that group buy was (best guess about 3 years ago?) hence why it's never yet been fitted.

So over the last few days I have primered and silver painted under the sills. Now awaiting coating of clear lacquer and then waxing.
And today, I floored Kitty for the first time after fitting the ST200 airbox. Mmmmm . . . nice sound . .

Believe or not Rich, I have an old rubber floor mat from my old Mondy, so will cut that to shape and stick to the underneath, so plenty of rubber to stop anything connecting with the terminals. As I said though, I've been unable to fit it, as the bracket is too wide i.e. where the holes are in the bracket won't fit with the long threaded poles on either side where you tighten the original battery holder down to. May have to do some jiggery pokery stuff to make it fit.
Be careful putting anything too thick under the battery cover as you might, depending on how your bonnet fits, cause the bonnet to come into contact with the battery cover when it's shut.
Rich, mainly for cosmetic reasons, because I wanted 'blue' behind the Cougar Head cut-out in my battery cover, I found a plastic box of that colour and cut a piece the same size as the back of the cover. It, therefore, suited both things by providing the colour and the insulation.
I also stuck a piece of tool-box rubber mat to the underside of the bonnet where there was a chance of the two coming into contact. It must be close because the pattern of the mat can be seen on the battery cover.
After mine was washed, wheels cleaned, inside cleaned, outside polished, back to blacked and rubber seals done i had had enough so wax another day...lol
Rich, get yourself a vinyl floor tile and stick it to the underside of the cover. It's only 1-2mm thick and does a perfect job of insulating.
I pryed open my old headlights and retrieved the inner plastics. Imagine I'll get some 93-bulb LED rings for the front two holes and leave the indicator hole untouched. Quite excited to order the bits and pieces and get going. I am, however, a little apprehensive about taking my nice shiny headlights apart.
Silver painted and clear laqcuered over the areas I've de-rusted under the sills. Not a big area but I'm happy I've done it now rather than wait until it's really bad.
