What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

A bit late for our adventurer Manos, but if you're planning on laying up your car and you don't want to disconnect your battery (ECU reset...), Halfords sell Ring and Sealey solar panels.

And these aren't the sort from ten years ago; we've got a 200mAh one that is keeping Jinxy charged. It's overkill, but is powerful enough to not only keep the battery conditioned, but also run a 12V dehumidifier. I strongly recommend getting one if you have a car that you only use occasionally.

£30.

That's for Jinxy, so a charger for a Cougar might be more expensive given the cranking power. The most expensive one seems to be around £60 or so. But that's for a Winnebego-sized vehicle.

Thanks mate. My new battery has withstood the cold weather, but any help it can get is welcome, especially as I plan on using the Peugeot for work and the Cougar for weekends, at least until herself passes her test:LOL:

Thought I'd do some fiddling this afternoon - I'm now rocking C2 clocks! - correct mileage and everything:

Glad I managed get it all back together, I wasn't 100% sure I would at this point:

Well done mate.

I find that there comes a point in pretty much every job where I go, "Why on earth did I start this, and how do I get back from here...?"

It's worse when that happens when you're working on someone else's car!

Yup, accompanied by that slightly sick-in-the-stomach feeling, I find. :)

That's what's great about this forum. You can start a post with, "URGENT! Guys, I messed up..." and although everyone will laugh at you, someone, somewhere will drag your backside out of the hole you dug yourself.

Yes fitting cup holder was a why did I start this job

Nope - still have the pen holder.

Determined to get this done before Scotfest though, so if you see anyone with a spare console for sale (or see one on your scrapper missions) please let me know!

Took my front wheels off to track down a clunking noise that has started happening this week. Looks like the front ARB bushes need replacing, off to ebay I go...

I'm struggling to picture them (all I can think of is the rear ones between the tank and the subframe). Are they a pain to do? Because I'm planning on replacing the whole of Tiger's suspension in the late spring.

Chris, if you want a console to practice on I've still got the C2 one I mullered the ashtray part of with my Mondy Mk3 cup holder experiment. You're welcome to it.

Look at the links on my last post in the EBay thread.

Yes they are a pain to do as someone decided to stick a steering rack in the way

It's the drivers side one that's the real pain iirc Paul. You need a bent spanner and a broken wrist, or you can slightly lower the SF for an extra 1/8 of a turn. Last time i did them was on S97 a couple of years back and i do need to check mine very soon, when i feel fit enough and when the weather picks up.
