my bug eye scorpio passed with hid's ,was told u only have to have headlight washers OR self levellers you dont need both and the washers have to work..
ive actually got spare headlights for the coug which the mot man said he'd pass it with hid's so long as ive got them in the boot for him to see...dont know what good it makes them being in the boot but im not arguing.
to be fair on the rules a properly fitted and correct colour hid set should be a pass but all to often u see lads with almost purple hid's in there corsa's with em pointing up in the air...they seem to get a thrill outta beaming them into windows..i think it was the regulators intent to stop this from happening and as usual tarred us all with the same brush.
im gona try fitting some washers to melina later this year...i'll do a how to if it all works out ok..ether that or i'll need a new bumper

Yes it is Steve. I fitted the long overdue rear ARB bushes today, the poly ones. The original rubber ones that came with the bar were actually standard size squashed to fit and they were well past their use by date. When we did the S97/S600 conversion, iirc Mart had these torks head bolts but i wanted to replace these with hex bolts, and you guessed it, i forgot, so i need to check the bolt/thread size/diameter so i can change them later.
I have recently been getting a bit of really agravating noise from the back, hence:
Old bushes and brackets came off easily, thanks to the recent work done by the gang.
Here, old crusty rubber bushes next to the shiney new poly 21mm ones prior to being cilly greased etc and refitted.

Changed a headlight bulb! A tricky process indeed, the torx screws required a lot of persuasion, had to get a ratchet on them, what a job, doesn't look like they've been opened or removed for years, also switched my sidelights to LEDS from my Skoda, took 10 seconds to take them out the Skoda, an hour to put in the Cougar!
Stuck my IMRC under my battery. I need a longer term solution, but the fact it won't be cooked anymore should stop me from getting my ass handed to me by Honda Civic's.

A point to note, sir. Once the encapsulation of the transistor is compromised, it will fail when it gets hot enough again, relocation notwithstanding.
It's likely that you just haven't experienced that level of heatsoak since. You've told me what your commute is so that's what I suspect; the only slow bits of your journey are where the secondaries wouldn't open anyway.
The ST200 swap will happen, I've got some prep bits to sort in the meantime but I'll keep you informed! I'm so excited to get it done, but I'm going to wait until it's warmer!
Yeah, I know it's only a stopgap. My new job is down in Southend, so I'm whizzing up and down the A12 and A130, and it's generally been well behaved. When I took it out of it's usual compartment under the rocker cover, the area was ridiculously hot. At least I know I can tie it under the battery now, so that's answered a few questions. It'll be interesting to see whether there's any impact.

I was working at the theme park next to the pier when I bought her. I brought her back to the park along the seafront on my first drive!

On topic, whoever decided to put the IMRC directly over an exhaust bank needs to be kicked in the balls until they're pulp.
