Sounds like he knows what he's doing, but I'd like to hear what products he uses if that't okay? We all approach this differently.

The trick, I think, is to completely strip the car and use a very hard wax. Like, the consistency of soap. Poorboys do Purple Haze (very hard) or Blue Velvet (ridiculously hard) that suit the Ebony and the Melina because they include dark-coloured fillers. It's a complete pain to work with, but once you've built up that base, it's easy to keep on top of it with a weekly/fortnightly cold wash and a paste wax for the rest of the year pretty much. Additionally, Poorboys Black Hole is literally just a glaze/filler and I have to use that on Tiger because of the state of her paint. It goes on and comes off like a liquid wax.
I've never detailed a Tourmaline/Amazon, so I'm not sure there, but I did a bit of Googling and it seems that DodoJuice do colour-specific hard waxes.
For the Frosty guys out there, Angel Wax do a similar line that will suit that colour, but even a neutral one will work, since Silver Frost doesn't show light scratches generally.

Last night Andy and I replaced my Pipercross filter with an OEM one and miraculously my hesitation is 100% better. I think if I can only find a ST200 pipe connector thingy it may disappear altogether as the car won't be sucking in warm air from the engine bay. Have emailed some ebay breakers.
OK I could have tried cleaning the filter but to be honest it was like it before I fitted it, so I've just binned it off. I'll have to take my stickers off now though - now what to have instead![]()

Since adding an exhaust system that reduced back-pressure and therefore meant less torque, I resolved to adding the IMRC once again.
Last night my brother and I took to an IMRC properly soldering in a new transistor, heat sinking the 'F' out of it, and sealing it up good and proper. I hung it from beneath the battery and it tested it's operation.
Amazingly, it works. The car is fantastic once more and having the low-end performance, for me, is nicer than the top-end burst. The surge is less noticable from 2nd gear onwards which could be an indicator that the valves aren't opening properly, or the reduced back pressure has lessened the effect. Irrespective, the car feels about as quick as it should - and miles more responsive beneath 3krpm.
