The Orginal one had snapped and that was the only replacement I could find

According to the listing it was from a st200

Thats definately non standard.
Is it an open type filter or a "one way" type?.
If its open then i would expect it to cause running problems...possibly brake problems too.

Its a one way type.

Had it on for over 6 months with no issues , I just assumed it was an st200 one as the listing stated and it fits perfectly

.
Isn't that a none return valve? iirc standard fit on zetec

Not been under a zetec but wouldnt the size and curves of the pipe be different to get from the servo to the engine?

No Dan, i am referring to the valve, standard issue as is the servo. The pipe is shaped differently yes.

23rd Dec, took the kids for last-minute Christmas shopping; Spalding then Cambridge.
Standing traffic on the A14 (sat-nav's choice of route) then on leaving Cambridge, standing traffic on approach to ring-road.
At Waterbeach traffic lights on A10, Jet cut out. I thought that was it, but after several minutes restarted and struggled on to Stretham, put some coolant and water in but engine just spun without firing.
Left Jet there overnight, Christmas Eve went with mechanic friend and his trailer, recovered to Wisbech.
Boxing Day, rolled off trailer into workshop, compression-tested; failed. Noted spark-plug tips wet.
Mechanic will remove head (Zetec's!) and consider the viability of replacing gasket.

Started the Cat up for a trip to B & Q was scraping the frost off the screen then heard the central locking, locked out of the car with the engine running, good job I was on my drive and the missus was indoors so I could retrieve the spare key. Something new to fix in the new year.

I had read somewhere of a possible fault that could cause central locking to activate. With only one key, i've vowed to never ever leave it inside without at least one aperture open.
