What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Dusted off my soldering iron, brushed up on technique with a couple of Youtube vids (I haven't soldered anything for a loooong time) and had a go at replacing the transistor in my spare (failed) IMRC unit. It seemed to go well, everything looks right, although the proof will be in the fitting - not sure when I'll get to do that, it's a bit bloody chilly outside to be mucking about under the bonnet...

Today i took a brillo pad to the windscreen
Yes i did. Since the cold snap i've noticed what seems to be a very thin film of what i think is laquer overspray from a job i did a while back. Cold conditions turn it white on the glass and make it impossible for driving untill the screen heater has been on it. Hopefully cured

I did this to Mrs Lucid's orange cat, people are always surprised but it's actually harder than you think to scratch glass.

Just water will do it Mike there's already soap in a brillo

That's correct Steve although my original intention was to just use wire wool but i couldn't find it, it's in the cave somewhere . Just light sweeps with the brillo is all that's needed, hardly any pressure at all. Just remember to rinse before you use the wipers. I've been out tonight and glad to report that the white haze has now gone from my cold windscreen (y)

Fitted some new rear droplinks, which has eliminated the clonking I was getting from the rear end. Also fitted my freshly repaired IMRC unit - while dismantling everything I found that the cable on the old one had snapped clean off! No wonder it was feeling a bit flat above 3500rpm. All sorted now though, she has her mojo back once again (y)

Glad to hear youve got the IMRC sorted (y)

Wow that car looks stunning o_O

Edit:

I'm tempted to tint my rear lights after seeing that, they really suit a frosty.
