What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

If we're swapping things, just use a 3.0. Easy as a 2.5 to install and doesnt require or even have a IMRC in factory form

The 3.0 is comparitavely rare here, to be honest. Sure, you can get them, but they're typically at the other end of the country and bloody expensive, if in a running condition. I know of only 2 (3?) Cougars that have been so converted over here, (though there may be more).

Also, Steve doesn't have a garage/driveway, so would have to go cap-in-hand to someone who does. It would also time limit him since the car is his daily, so it'd have to be completed with no errors over the course of a weekend...

There was also the one that Lucid had, and I have a vague recollection of one other. Maybe down south somewhere?

Well as far as this club is concerned you are! I'm led to believe that it's not so uncommon in the USA.

Speaking very generally for reference, most of our cars are valued at somewhere around $700. So as a value proposition, installing a big-ass $550 motor doesn't work out. You must understand that our car culture over here is far different from yours, mainly because the cost of ownership is so high. Insurance, fuel... This is why a V8 is generally considered exotic... and the irony is that the people who can afford them aren't the people who want them other than as status symbols!

Heck, even a V6 is a luxury these days. We don't really have a Camaro/Corvette equivalent as such. There's no 'everyman sportscar' really. The base-model V6 Camaro - which you can get from a Vauxhall (GM) dealer - costs $21K more here than it does in the States!

We turbocharge I4s instead. Usually Japanese ones. Y'all call that "Rice".

TL;DR: You guys have a car culture that gives you far more affordable options than we have.

All polished, waxed, protected ready for her first appearance at Scotfest (just dont drive her until Friday:LOL:) you may also notice, she gets priority of the drive over my other car:)
