new workshop ordered to house the cougar and xr4i, should both be under cover in 3 weeks time, which one to start first then![]()
Done a full service today.
Noticed this vac pipe that ive fixed was disconnected...car has been running fine..anyone know what its for (the one in my hand)
No wonder it hasnt made a difference to the running then ive already capped off the green one which I knew was the EGR ..didnt realise that one was part of the EGR system also I thought each colour did something different
I'm having to reach a bit here since it was a few years ago, but I found the vac system diagrams and the white one just said it was related to the EGR without really showing were it goes. So to be fair, I'm not exactly sure what it does, but since you've deleted your EGR I'm going to assume you're okay.
Wouldnt expect ford to do something logical like colour coding anyway
Least I know I dont have to worry I may have caused some unknown damage somewhere running her without it connected
Found it! It is 9E498, Emission Vacuum Control Main. It connects to the underside of an actuator on the LIM/fuel-rail. Totally redundant in a car with EGR delete, though should obviously be capped at the vac cluster if disconnected.
Awesome thanks..got me a little job for tomorrow now![]()
