What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

On some cars, the lack of spoiler looks like it's poverty-spec. But on the Cougar I disagree. You want a spoiler? That's great. But she doesn't need one to carry the lines.

Anyway, I bought a snow-foam lance and went to town. Practiced on T's Octavia (because who cares, right?) and learned what to do. Turns out you need to be generous with it...

This was an amazing clean - even better than a hot wash - and I went for the Poorboys Black Hole. As Sam has recently found, this is how you treat an Ebony. Here she is baking off...

Shameless advert for Uncle Al...

I'll keep the board updated once it arrives and see if it fits. I'm also going to have a look and see what else is there, I've not checked but I wonder if they'll also supply the electro-magnet etc... :D

Today just a couple of minor things as it's been a day of cricket and shopping. I've removed the strapping applying pressure to the spoiler and that all looks good and solid, replaced the aerial for a short stubby thing, quickly cleaned the dash with some interior wipes and programmed a couple of fobs so we'll have one each (I think I'm also going to get another key cut). I must say I was very impressed, and they even came with batteries.

Looking good ;)

Thank you so much!

All I've got pending is..

1) Offside chassis rail welding.

2) Offside rear handbrake cable.

Might be some other advisories, but I think she's okay.

She'll be fine mate. I can't really help with the welding part but I'm sure you'll have a suitable expert lined up.

Tony has offered, for which I am hugely grateful. He's trustworthy and thorough and hilarious to work with.

The damage is more than 30cm from suspension mount points so it's not an MOT fail, but it needs to be fixed and I won't be happy until it is.

Spent the day chasing electric gremlins in Gems cougar, Alternator was pushing out 18.6 so stripped it down to change the regulator, as it had to come off the car anyway replaced with one of my refurbished Alternators, checked alternator that had been on which I bought brand new just about 14 months ago and had a garage fit, big sticker on it saying refurbished grrrr

Agree 100%, when this was sat at my father in laws I always thought it needed one to add a bit of something to its a**e end!

I dont know, Look at Steves... I kinda like it...
But went through too much searching to even get rid of mine lmao

I don't like the way a lot of spoilers on a Cougar raise the lines and make the rear of the car look high.....I have today ordered a discreet lip spoiler :)

Apart from the camaraderie and support that I get here, one of the things I like best about us is that we don't all think the same. We put ideas out there and nobody gets offended when someone else says, "Eh, I don't like it but you do you."

Incidentally, I've been thinking about your idea for modernising your foglights. Did you ever get anywhere with that?

I hunted hard for some foglight surrounds that I could butcher and mould into some Zetec blanks......I was looking at Mk2 Focus ST or Mondeo ST220 style as I really think this would suit the Cougar. I couldn't find anything that seemed to suit, the shape of the cougar fogs is pretty unique.

It's still an idea I'd like to try one day, for now I'm happy with the LED projectors I fitted into the stock housings. HERE in case you didn't see it at the time :)
