What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Looks Good, hopefully the rear subby is MOT able. And the best colour too. I wonder if in some dim and distant future a cloth will be worth more than leather. Could be rarer, rareer, rare'r ? could be more rare.
Have I invented a word ?
Might be the beer and wine.

Looking great Carol, wondered how long it would be before being back in Cougar ownership.

🤣 Thanks and not long at all !!!

Fingers crossed when she goes to the garage and to be honest I never thought of that about the interior..

That's a real looker and you've made a great start on him/her.

Things like subframes and fuel fillers are subjective (unless they've got holes in) and can really depend on your tester. If you want to try it for yourself, put a block of wood on a trolley jack and try to lift the back of the car by the centre of the subframe. If it doesn't deform, you're probably fine.

My MOT guy says, "If the car can't be lifted by the subframe, that subframe is not strong enough to be on the road." Can't really argue with that.

Great day today, Tony came over to deliver me an engine and gearbox. Started off this morning rather drizzley as I got things ready for his arrival, but beautiful sunshine later in the day. Much chat about all things Cougar including my mysterious collection of 4 x 4 bits in the trailer. Tony took both my cats out for a spin while I had the privilege of driving Snoopy ! I must not tell the Missus how good the jag is, or she'll want one. I'm still hoping to convert her to ( better word this right ! ) driving a cougar, albeit probably an auto...

Hmmm, what's this ?

I began to think that Tony had decided to keep the new one !

Trying to be neighbour friendly, hiding evidence of my obsession behind my wendy house...

Current resting place for the new 'lump'. I have plans to build a box for it, so I can put in an hour or two here and there to get it the way I want before a transplant. Some 'Plus-Gas' on the header studs will be the first job I think...

All now safely tucked up overnight under a new tarp ...

I've lost track!

Is that the one that you already had in your trailer, of the one that is sans alternator courtesy of Tiger? ::edit:: Nevermind - just seen the update to your For Sale thread. Good result for everyone!

Which reminds me, I must remember to take the dead alternator to Paul when I pop up to Redditch in Wildcat.

Gave it a bit of a clean - even some Meguiars Quik Wax was used, I must be getting soft. Trim black/tyre shine still from Poundstretcher though:LOL:

Okay, I give up. Looks adjustable but not hugely robust - you're not lifting 1.5 tonnes with it - so I'm guessing it's a motorcycle engine hoist?

Chris, they are designed to support car engines and allow them to be rotated for dismantling/refurbing etc.

Searching 'Clarke Engine Stand' on eBay brings up several for sale for less than £50.00.

I have to say that Andy picked me up from the station today in his C2......and it is rather unnerving having oncoming traffic heading straight for you when you don't have a steering wheel and pedals
