The Aeon GT has been available as a kit for a few years now, and I was one of their first customers. One of the attractions for me was the fact that the company was happy to help me in building something quite different to their original design. I quite liked the concept, I absolutely LOVED the handling (test drive around Brands and then on public roads) but the styling was rather '80s' in my opinion so I wanted to radically restyle it. I have since sold the design back to the company and I am now helping them develop a new gull wing door which will incorporate electric windows.

I didn't really have a clue how to start so I basically started trawling the internet to find tutorials about fibreglass construction. I am a graphic designer by trade so I knew what I wanted to aim for .... just lacked the practical skills to do it. Two years later, after a steep learning curve, my car has been to many shows, was published in national magazines, local papers and I was finally awarded 'Complete Kit Car Reader's Car of the Year 2007' so I was really chuffed. Not bad for a first timer eh?

My choice of engine was largely due to my aversion to anything with just 4 pots - but the next project will have an Audi 4.2 V8

V8 hehehehe hope you can efford to replace your rear tyres once a month lol

So what is the kit recommed engine? was it the Ford V6 or is that your choice? What donour vehical supplies the other parts or is it all part of the kit?

Sorry for all the questions :D

I've just noticed your doors, they are nuts!! I like mad doors, I see you were in a delima about whether to go for gullwings or scissors.... so you though 'screw it' and done both!!  Mad idea but I like it

Whats the interior like??? I'm imagining more basic then even a Lotus Elise???

Sorry mate but there something I have to ask as you might know the answer.... Going back to the Noble, have you got any idea what happened to the M14??? I've never seen one for sale, on the road, parked, crashed, stolen, burnt out.... or anywhere for that matter... they were stunning cars and the only place I've ever seen one is at a couple of motor shows and on Top Gear. I really liked them and it would be good to know that atleast one person bought one  I thought maybe you might have some frriends into Nobles or something who might know more???

Im sure there must at least one in the UK somewhere, being a UK company, in my eyes they have filled the space that TVR left before 1) going eastern european and then 2) going outa business.

Not my cuppa as someone would say....Give me a NOBEL thanks 8)

Each to their own, but I would probably prefer a NOBLE rather than a peace prize

Greetings guys, I thought I would stick my head in here and see what goes on.

I am the builder and (part) designer of the Aeon GT2. It was primarily designed as a three seater (GT3) but I found it too cramped for my ... erm .... adequate proportions so I redesigned the chassis for two seats. The bodywork is a one off - I started with the original kit and basically changed every part to suit my choice of styling, making bucks and moulds accordingly.

Regarding the UIM comments, they were found to complicate the mapping too much and started a 'pulsing' in the power curve. I put this down to the very low weight conflicting with the original engine design which is for a car nearly three times the weight (which is often why auto boxes have so much trouble when stuck in kit cars) The engine was stripped of all the emmission friendly stuff and I got right back to basics using nothing but the crank sensor to spark up the MBE ecu. After 4 hours on the rollers I ended up with 202bhp and 180 ftlb which isn't bad on an ST24 TB - the power curve is really smooth and gives good power from tickover to redline (about 7800rpm). Anyone know where I can get my hands on an SVT TB so I can explore the full potential of a 2.5 litre?

Performance is quite good too - 0-60 is a tad over 4 seconds! but the real bonus is driveability. Around town it is really well mannered but ram the loud pedal down and she really goes!!

Great forum guys - thanks to cyrano1127 for introducing me :)
  Thanks for putting me in my place

If I remember correctly, the M14 never made it to production. It was a concept or proof of concept of sorts, which eventually was developed into the M15, comme ?ºa:

The M14 did make it into production, it costs ?ú75k and is going against the 911...

Richard Hammond reviewed it and loved it. I loved it aswell and really thought it would boost Nobles kit car image that it has at the moment. I prefer them to TVRs but its tough to break into a market from being a complete unknown, especially when a long established brand like TVR more or less dominates the road cars for use on the track' market...

As I said I've seen a couple at motorshows but never on the road. I love the way the rev counter needle changes colour as you go up through the revs... 8)

I don't mean to differ unduly but I just re-checked and I found this on Wikipedia:

The Noble M14 was a prototype vehicle created by Noble Automotive that debuted at the 2004 British Motorshow.

It had 400 bhp bla bla bla....

Noble expected it to compete with cars like the upcoming Porsche 911 Turbo and Ferrari F430. It was expected to cost ?ú75,000.

Following the debut of the vehicle Lee Noble the creator of the car decided that it was insufficiently advanced over the current range of Noble cars to justify its price tag. Noble transferred development to a new car the Noble M15, a pre-production prototype of which was presented in 2007 (and shown on TV's Top Gear) but never launched. Noble is now believed to be working on two updated replacements - the M600 and the M15C (see Autocar magazine, 20 October 2007).

Well cover me in egg and flour and bake me for 14 minutes!

You're right, what a blow I really liked that car  Oh well I suppose its not the first time a brilliant prototype has been dropped. Atleast Noble didn't drop the M14 to build a diesel engine like some other comanies have before... :?

Sorry mate it was just when you said it didn't make production that was the first time I'd ever heard anything about that....

I remember that test & the one previously when Clarckson drove the M-400 (I think thats what its called) which had a twin turbo'd duratec V6, he said it sounded like "Darth Vader" in the cabin because of the inlets  8)
Seen one of these on the road, we are talking BIKE speed it is awesome
This is a = M12 the M400 is similar just got a more powerfull engine (this may even be an M400) :?

Tasty motor. A guy had built one and istalled everything you can think of, Sat Nav, Stero, Electric toys, Alcantra everywhere through the cockpit etc and was up for sale for I think 22 or 25000 pounds in Which kit car last year. Its a good return for your money building your own kit from stratch.

An american company now owns the rights to build the cars under its own name, however NOBLE will still fix yours if it breaks. The M600 is being road-tested in the USA against the Porsche GT and Ferrari Enzo, soyou can see what market they are going for now. The test car has a de-tuned engine pushing out over 450bhp (A volvo V8) but they are looking at over 600bhp for production models....0 to 60 about 3seconds, 195+mph top so far!!!

If you are after an SVT throttle body look on ebay or yank forums like newcougar.org or the contour forums. The Mondeo ST200 and ST220 throttle bodies also fit and are larger ported to match your SVT UIM.
