where can you buy a 1999 Cougar V6 IACV

Oh dear Mabo :-( if your iacv is disconnected but your car is driveable you have a rather big problem! Unless of course you have just disconnected the wiring to it in which case it will be either stuck open or stuck closed depending on whether you have the spring type fitted

My IACV is disconnected as in unplugged, not removed as in a massive leak in the inlet manifold. Its closed so is serving the function of blanking off the hole. If I connect the electrical connection the engine races, I did post on the subject some months ago, but it faded out without an answer.
So I don't have a rather big problem, I have a small problem who's long term consequences appear to me to be to be of no consequence. But I'm willing to be educated which is why I'm here.

I have to be honest, aside from permanently having a fault code I don't know what the result of not having a working iacv will do

I must agree that when I disconnect the electrical connection to the IAVC that the engine sounds a load better, but after 5 seconds it sputters and dies

The moose is dead!!

Ordered this part from the USA http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=181810928323&alt=web

Swapped over this morning and problem solved, no more shame at traffic lights and the engine generally seems to be smoother now

Note the spring

Glad It's sorted Dan. Next time it fails disconnect the electrical side so the IACV is closed then practice your heel n tor for your first five mins of your journey.
I find it kind of satisfying.
