Who can tell me what this is please?

The chap that makes some of the parts for this conversion helped me with the parts i needed to make my rear infill for the cougar. While i was there he showed me the dash which to be legal can't be sold with the badge stuck on but you can buy it seperate i think for £200. The finished engine cover looked faultless, it was difficult to stop my feet running while holding it

This could be interesting for PAul (procomm) and his v8 conversion, the looks to go with the power....he just needs to rob brinks matt

I think the cougars looks will match the V8 power i am looking at converting to Matt, I am also looking to put my engine in the front not the middle of my car so I can still use it for carrying passengers and shopping.

Now to add a little question for everyone, if you had £15,000 would you buy one of these cars or would you get yourself an Aston Martin DB7 hmmmmmmm I know which i would go for :)

P.S I know the price was marked up as £10,500

Good question......trouble for me would be:
a) Insurance on a DB7 would be a lot higher than my Cougar
b) Servicing, tyres, brake pads etc would be a whole lot higher on the Aston
c) Petrol costs would be a fair bit higher on the Aston
d) The DB7 isn't the best looking Aston Martin :)

But hey....if I had 15k I would be buying a BMW 6 series (albeit very high mileage for that price).

On a slight side note, I had the pleasure of seeing the 360 kit that this company make based on the MR2 on Sunday at the Goodwood breakfast club.

The quality of the kit was fantastic!! It was only the dashboard/interior that gave the game away!
There was another "fake" non DNA 360 there and it looked very bad. The panel gaps were HUGE and it had red (gone pink in the sun) windscreen washer pipes attached to the rusty windscreen wipers

Not sure the servicing and insurance arguement would stand up mate. Engine wise, fair enough, but brakes would be different (and probably more expensive) after the hub conversion and tyres would be Ferrari sizes and not Cougar sizes. Likewise, insurance on a DB7 would be a lot, but so would insurance on a very highly modified Cougar.

Just for balance of course... (personally, I'd get an XKR or save up some more for a DB7 Vantage).

The quality does look very good indeed. I wouldn't be able to spend that sort of money on a Cougar though.

This is true with so many cheep Xk-8's and XKR's on eBay not to mention the odd DB7 I would have to question your logic, especialy as that dope building the R8 copy using a Cougar has made thios type of mod a laughing stock, even if it does look good, which from the pics it does look very good. I'd just prefer a REAL 360 myself ;)

It's deffo an interesting read & thanks for posting this, though personally, I couldn't justify the expense of one of these kits, for a host of reasons, including :

1) I prefer my car to look like a Cougar. as the styling of the car is what reeled me in, in the 1st place (y)
2) I can't really see the point in giving a Cougar a makeover to look like ANY other car, let alone a Ferrari......................WHY?????:(
3) Imagine the embarrassment of being burnt off from a standing start in your Ferrari look-alike, by something way less powerful, you may as well fit those false turbo whistles as well & just daydream.
4) By the time you've bought & fitted one of these kits, you could have bought a genuine 2nd hand Ferrari, even if it is only one of these :

5) I like my car to 'talk the talk' & 'walk the walk', not just look impressive when stationary :)
6) I've seen loads of really nice body kits for the coog, that compliment the car's curves, that are a mere fraction of the price of one of these conversion kits.............give me a Roush anyday over one of these! (y)

This is not intended as an attack btw, just voicing my personal thoughts guys.:)

But you could also do the conversion to a zetec and then hand it over to us and get a very nice 450bhp 4x4 ferari copy. not a bad way blow £17,000

For a fraction of that, I could sell the coog & buy a 2nd hand GTO or a Skyline with similar/better performance Mark.

I wana see the 450bhp cougar first mate  .....:whistle:ooh below the belt:cool:....You need to build it in a C2 to make it look as good as it goes.....:LOL:get's ready for the backlash:bomb:

Would rather do it to a car that was designed not cobbled together:eek::censored::bomb:
