'Carry On Camping' - Not 'Fest 2013.

Provisionally, and its only because we have several weekend events coming up which are busy business wise, put me down for 3 nights somewhere near an electric point please.

By my reckoning we have reached the equivalent of 25 nights confirmed, giving a cost per pitch per night of £12.00, the same you would have to pay for a 4 man tent if booking individually.

On the strength of that I have placed a deposit with Grendon for the booking of Gerald's Ponds for our sole use.

I will tidy-up this thread later and start a list in the first post of who has said they will attend, either in the 'Deposits' thread* or this one, and for how many nights.

*omitting those who have made it known they cannot attend.

I've started a new thread containing the attendees list here:

Andy, could you provisionally add a motor home for 2 nights as well please, preferably near electric.

This and my reservation are purely provisional due to waiting on confirmation of a few things. There's a chance we might have to drop out quite late but I hope we don't have to.

A thought came to me tonight regarding the gazebo/Marquee. If we use our own, we maybe need to think about some lighting? If we have an electric point closeby or even into the gazebo, would anybody have any portable mains lights we could use?

We have some icicle LED lights we used at Christmas - they are outdoor lighting but we fitted them in the living room and they were reasonably bright and a nice pure white glow. I'll dig out a pic.....

A clip light or something would suffice I'm sure. Loop it round a bar and clip on to the wire.

Saw Kully today and verified dates with him, due to other circumstances I'm afraid i wont be able to attend unless a miracle happens...............Gutted dont even come into it, some know why, and I hope you all have one for me..........at least one that is ;-)

I'd had the same thought Al and was intending on making sure there was space left for the gazebo near one of the electric points.
I was going to suggest using the mains 40w bulb holder and shade my mum used in her caravan awning but John's icicles sound more festive.
I need to locate at least one extension lead with the blue plugs assuming that is the type of fitting their electric points have. Could someone who used electric last year please confirm this?

That's a real shame Tony and I know just how gutted you'll be if the miracle doesn't occur.:(

If I make it, I'll be using the blue plug hook up for the caravan anyway but my caravan has an external twin socket fitted which is normal 3 pin plug. Once the awning is up, could easily run an extension out of there if needed.
