CougarFest 2014

Thinking about bringing my old lappy to watch world cup final but am concerned about the data it'll use as i'd have to use my phone as hotspot and i only have 500Mb data allowance. Would that cover it do ya think :D

500Mb is not a lot at all, surely they'll show it in the pub though

It's about 350MB per hour and about half that on mobile. I have 9.5GB left we can use.

I'd say bring it.... But as an option 2 after the local watering hole.

Bright warm and sunny here in Robin Hood country also. We should be setting off anytime now. I'll send a few txt's out when we stop at the gap? See you all there and safe journeys to all (y)

A bit muggy down here in Atherstone.

I can't pick Tina up til 3 15. And she doesn't need to change out of her uniform as she is normal clothes lol so leaving Tamworth bout 3 20ish.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for making my first ever Cougarfest a very memorable one!

Had an absolutely great time, though I'm profoundly glad that I won't have to camp again for another year... ;)

Well we have been home about an hour at the start of me writing this, decided against the lower part of the M6 due to those miserable perpetual roadworks around Birmingham and Stafford, I filled up with petrol at the Esso garage on the way to the M1, we went straight up the M1 to 23a, stopped for a slash and continued up the A50 to J15 of the M6 (the mileage is very similar), we stopped at Sandbach for a coffee and still got home in around 3 hours had some fun too.
After missing last year and not having a Cougar this year, this was a very different fest for us, like almost everybody that traveled there on Friday we landed late in the afternoon due to the horrendous traffic, we left just after 2.00pm today.
I would like to say thank you to Steve for cooking on the barbecue on Friday and Saturday, we appreciated it very much as I am sure everybody did, also thank you to Paul for a bacon bap on Saturday cooked by him and Gemma (from his considerable stash of deceased pig). Thank you to Manos and Mo for breakfast this morning and Saturday too.
Friday night was a riot, the usual frenetic Friday that we have come to expect, I think that I went to bed between 2.00 - 2.30am, Saturday daytime was chill out time for us, sit in the sun and relax as well as attempting to photograph some of the insect life at Grendan. Saturday night seemed a little sedate by comparison to the previous evening but it was still a good night, good to see Chris get the Award and Emma was given that framed photo from the club.
Sunday was very laid back and relaxed, I didn't surface until after 10 to the sound of Cougars being arranged in the centre of the field for a line up photo. The rest of the day was spent saying goodbye to the people that were leaving and chatting with the Sunday night club, had some good laughs with everybody reminiscing about happenings from the past. Last night we lit the barbecue and had a few beers while listening to some music, some people were singing rather badly too.
Today was pretty much like Saturday, relaxed. I am a convert to the Sunday night club, makes for a better weekend for us, doesn't feel so hurried.
Thanks to everybody that went, we still felt as welcome as when we owned our Cougars, thanks to Andy for booking it and taking care of the payments.
It was fun.
