Hello from Kent

Thanks again guys for the warm welcomes, and it's great to see that another member (Siggi) is only a stone's throw away on the "Planet Thanet" .

Siggi, like you I haven't messed with mine yet, it is still a completely standard V6 Manual with leather interior.
The only things that may not be standard (as I'm still not sure what standard spec is) are the 6 CD Multichanger in boot and the "COUGAR" mudguards (I think they may be a US option, as local Ford dealer says the Ford ones never had "COUGAR" imprinted into the rubber

I think I'd like do a few subtle mods to it (maybe a descreet boot spoiler, and a nice set of aftermarket alloys), but it looked good as it was before the boot got hit, so I may just leave it alone (y)

That's BRILLIANT, thanks for that link mate.

What I hadn't mentioned before was that I've been searching for a replacement rear mudguard since I got the car in June (as one of my rears was missing when I bought the car) but everyone I've tried (including FORD) told me the ones they stocked hadn't got the "COUGAR" name on them.

The ones in that link are identical to mine, Many thanks :D

Hi Tony
My old fella had a cortina est yellow with black vinal roof
It ended up like yours having lost an argument with a hgv
he really loved that car and it brings back memories of sitting in the back of it on our way to cornwall
I do seem to remember him "fixing" it every sunday though. lol

Hi and welcome to the club Tony. Nice ebony you`ve got there and KITT is outrageous. Remember it well, the Hoff overacting wherever possible, great viewing though. We too have a Puma as well as the big cat, seems to be the pattern. Used to work in Lenham, just up the road from you. Good to have you with us.

No probs mate. If you pm casscougar he may be able to get them for you a bit cheaper as he works for Payne's Ford. Top bloke is our Neil (y)

Thanks guys,

Yeah, I still miss my Cortinas (especially the last one), I surprised my wife the other day when I said that if a "Fairy Godmother" popped up in front of me and offered to wave her magic wand and restore my last Cortina in exchange for KITT I would agree in a heartbeat!!! :yikes: (I guess I'm too much of a FORD NUT ).

KITT is great for getting attention wherever I go, but I just can't get along with a LHD Auto (I like my RHD manuals :ihih:).

As for the Puma thing, it doesn't surprise me, the girls seem to love the shape of them and think they are "Cute" (a bit like the Beetle & Mini thing :eek:ut:).
The Yellow Millenium Puma is the 2nd Puma Karen has had, before this she had a "Blurple" one (which she loved), but it got into an argument with a great big Coach in Oct last year and lost :frown2:.

Neil, is that for a complete set of 4 mate? If so, that's a damned good price - also, are these the ones with "Cougar" and the Cougar head emblem embossed into them?? Thanks.

Hi mate,
Yeah, unfortunately at the moment the only Black one on ebay is about 300 miles away up in Lancs :frown2:

Sods law, a few weeks ago there was a complete black V6 with leather interior on there with front end damage for "Spares or repairs" at £325 for the whole car or "would consider breaking" (and it was only about 50 miles away in Maidstone), but at the time I still didn't know if the Insurers were going to let me keep my car (as they were trying to write it off because new tailgate from FORD is £700!!!), so I couldn't go for it in case I lost my car.

I phoned him a few days ago when I got word back from the Insurers, but it had gone to the crusher on Wednesday last week with the Tailgate still on it (and it had the boot spoiler too :frown2:).

I'll just have to keep looking and wait for another :mad2: LOL

 I phoned him a few weeks ago & he told me it had been sold
It had taken me a few days to get some quotes to get it trailered to Sidcup and in the meantime it had apparently 'gone'.
Strange guy - getting rid when there were at least 2 people interested!

Welcome to the club - from black cat owners in south London.
Love what you've done to KITT, do you have any major plans for your cat?

Hi Rob, no, there are no major plans for my Cat, I MAY put a descreet boot spoiler on there at some point, but the Cougar is such a nice car that it looks good even in standard trim, so why mess with it?
