Finished Product...

Changing my Upper, Lower Inlet Manifolds and Throttle Body for ST versions, along with spark plugs to NGK Platinums and some Magnicore leads. Also fitted a cruise control servo and control cable.

Managed to **** up 3 injector seals by not paying attention, so went to turn it over and pissed fuel everywhere.

Took it all back apart and fixed with new seals and Vaseline.

Now have -
  • ST200 Upper Air Inlet Manifold
  • ST200 Lower Air Inlet Manifold
  • ST200 Throttle Body
  • ST200 Air Box
  • NGK Platinum Sparks
  • Magnicore Competition Leads.
  • Cruise Control! Oh YEAHHH

Cougar is now faster, smoother and quieter on the intake side, where it used to be really noise as the guys at Trax found out! Win :D

Next up, Alloys (which have more primer on now) and front bumper.

Nice job mate :)

excellent work!

Great work mate (y)

Nice job Hip, is the ST200 mod worth the hassle?

Cheers guys. Rik, I can't really compare it tbh! I had had the car off the road for a few weeks and I'd been running round in the Smart car and I can't feel any difference from before. The one thing I do like is that the TB for the ST has a much stronger return spring, or less worn out and the Accelerator pedal feels far more response.

Aye, first time I'd messed around with injectors and what not, so learning curve achieved :)

Me too..............

Normally it is the right way up, I had to top it up late one night and just put it back on. It's already been corrected :D

Car is now staying, following my breaking thread. With a budget of about £3k, I can't find a car to the standard anywhere near the Cougar and you won't catch me in a 1.0 Corsa!!

Plan is to convert the car to LPG and run it on that till it dies. In the meantime, look to start saving for a Mondeo ST220, BMW 3 Series etc (Anything reasonable with a 6 cylinder engine, so the LPG is transferable)

Good call Hip, much as I would like to buy some of your goodies, keeping it on the road is preferable

Perhaps you could sell me one of your wheelsets to help with the repair costs :devilish:

Thank you sir. Now to sort where I want the reg, if to paint the grill black and if to fit a splitter.

Also, thank you to Pid for the bumper.
