My new install too thread

not wanting to hijack your thread lol but jason quick bit of advice please as you know i have the twin 12inch subs in boot and your wonderfull woofers/tweeters etc in front doors but i have blown one of the standard rear speakers.suggested replacment if you dont mind cheers

Easy answer is don't they are not needed they are only there for some fill however if you did want to add some mid bass and have some spare amplification then I can get hold of some 8" midbass units that are OE for aston martins fit into the quarters just with a baffle which I can supply.

How you liking the crisper sound of the infinitys??

JJ

a big big difference but with rear right stock speaker blowing its trumpet its ruining it though, but lucky i have 2 spare i can use mean time and will sort out proper replacments with you after new year

yeah from the rear shelf of the upgraded systems sound very nice even with temporary fixing.

JJ

Well I had a very productive weekend and a little help from my son ;)

Skrews need counter-sinking and everything glueing but i want to test fit it in the car

Discalmer.. No children were hurt in the making of this bass.

Looking good mate, you got Mr universe helping you to fit it in the car though, it must weigh a TON:eek6:

i hope your gonna secure it well too mate other wise you could find your self flater than a pancake in an accident (heaven forbid):nonod:

Wont be a lot of progress during the week, the car is nearly ready for the box and the subs are now out of the crappy Fusion boxes. Should be doing the install at the weekend.

JJ, Sorry to hijack this thread a little chap, i have a question for you... I have just bought a 2din DVD GPS 7" head unit for the car, i was wondering if they go strait in without any cutting to the console? as i have heard the although Ford's ones do look double din they are actually 1.75 din as an anti theft measure..? am i looking at a days fun with a dremmel chap?

It does need some work mate I am afraid and to get it looking really neat you will need to add some material at the sides usually to get it to fit flush, not a massive deal but I am a perfectionist so it would bother me if it did not look like it fits perfect.

PM me once you have it if you need some help.

J

It's in! ...just, i have stopped for the day as it's dark and raining but the box is now in and secured, i've just put selant round all the joins internally so that should be dry tomorrow ready for the front and subs. I should get to test the sound before the days out. Sorry no pics as i have been working flat out all day but i promise some tomorrow. off for a bath now as my hands are covered in selant, glue and tiger seal :dita:
