:sosp: I didn't know that mate cheers, yeah its basicaly replacing the Tv, Video, DVD, hi-fi etc. so a Jukebox is about right, i'm not realy into gaming (used to have an N64 for that) like stratergy games, however its good to still have the potential if I need it. Will be getting Office aswell so will use the Pc as word processor and for spreadsheets.AMD 64bit processors are a favorite with gamers but provide little extra to the 32bit for basic use, I may be wrong but this looks like a jukebox setup more than anything so the 64bit would just be a waste of money as you would not use its capacity effectively. I like intel the pentium range is extremely good used correctly, AMD have always been a favorite with people who want the added speed ratings, usually for gaming but other than that it is basically down to favoured choice.
I'm trying to stay away from LCD Tv's as the computer has the Tv tuner built in (and they are a lot more expensive than LCD Monitors) plus I want to connect using Dvi not VGA, the 26" Hanns-G one I was looking at has HDMi input using a Dvi to HDMi cable, but saying that they also do a 28" model its just about £100 more at £299 approx. I've heard the resolution/contrast rate and responce time of LCD Tv's isn't as good as LCD monitors either, this Packard Bell 23" one i have my eye on has a contrast ratio of 80,000:1
plus 5ms responce time.I'll be ok with Media Center as the fonts on that are designed so you can see them effectivly from up to 10ft away.
True but look at the cost matey I see the new ones can be connected via wi-fi to the internet on there own with out a PC.
I guess responce time is only really valid if i'm playing games?

if you have read my PC problems thread in Off topic, here is the offending article (PC) that is causing allthe hassle from its conception to full build including photos etc. (looks like most of the same people have quoted on it at some point)
