My Cougar is a 2001 Y reg C1 as well mate. I think there are more than you might think out there.

Aww that's brill there maybe more then guess my x reg c2 is rarer then I no how many left website only say 158 c2s left my c2 was registered in Dec 00 wen was ur c1 registered

Just chiming in to say that I think that exhaust is a Blue Flame. From what I've seen, it's identical to mine.

Can't wait to meet this car, and to see the rest of Wil's again. Can't wait for 'Fest!

Worked out some more differences this afternoon but I'll let Wil and 'Detective Andy' report the findings(y)

While delivering Matt's 'replacement' sills I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to call in and meet Wil and his collection for the first time.
I wasn't disappointed especially as the subject of this thread in now in residence. It is a wonderful sight to behold despite a couple of cosmetic issues that weren't apparent on the eBay photos.
As Matt has alluded to we were able to spot some differences between what was obviously meant to be an Aussie spec C2 and a UK spec one. Having one of each parked next to one another certainly helped in that respect. I'll leave it to Wil to outline the anomalies and to pass on the interesting info he's received from the previous owner should he see fit.
Great to meet you Wil and to experience the wholehearted enthusiasm you have for your collection and Cougars in general. (y)

Thank you Andy. Good to meet you at last.

It was a pleasure to share my collection with you, and your knowledge, and the club's, of Cougars is amazing.

I will post more info about this special Cougar in due course.

cheers,

Wil

Mark your X reg C2 is probably one of the first C2's registered and there was a definite cross over with C1's and C2's being sold at the same time.
Could you please keep the 'Fest info in the relevant thread so I can keep tabs on it without your replies getting lost.

Accommodation is not provided unless you'd like to talk to Wil about hiring his bungalow independently. If you go down that route the number of nights you stay won't affect the costings for the rest.

Aww that's great I thought it was wen I got.it do u no the actual launch,on sale date of the c2 in the UK. Just wondering if that red c2 on ebay was an Aussie spec model

So, from info kindly provided by the person who owned the car 'from new'.....
It was a Cougar that was destined for Australia and ended up in UK via Germany.
As Andy says it has some interesting 'differences' from a standard UK model, clocks, oil filler cap etc..
The exhaust, badges, spolier, etc were specially ordered and fitted after purchcase.

It is indeed a rare and fascinating Cougar, and I look forward to sharing it with the Club,

cheers,

Wil
