Yes the tittle said it all folks. I was on my way back from London doing 76 ish and heard a metallic broken chainsaw, warn ball-bearing sort of noise coming from my engine, and decided to continue at 60mph with blooming Optimus prime tailgating me for 5 miles! I got some advice from the people who had the time to talk to me (i.e the Mafia and my local trusting Bosch garage), and concluded that it could be my bottom end bearings, or my timing chain/s and that i would be better off getting my engine replaced at flaming 53k on the clock!!! As you can imagine, I was nearly in tears for the first time OVER A CAR, and my wife just wanted me to get it fixed after she saw how depressed I was all day bless her.

Now this dose not mean that I will be selling my car for spares AT ALL! I can only look at going down to BMafia to get the ST220 conversion done when i have the finances (which will be after 5 months ) but who knows, probably earlier? and when i do, i will PROBABLY have the first ebony c1 st220 in Britain?

I guess i will have to sell my ford fair 2012 ticket to someone who wants it on this forum or anyone else who is interested. I will also give away the free sprint test too.

For now, I will give my cat a good clean on the inside and out with all the best stuff and then cover over with the best car cover I can get a hold of and then have a stiff drink.

I would like to thank all of the guys again for helping me with my engine upgrade, when I was at Topcats. You all are stars)

I will be here now and then once in a blue moon and will be re-subscribing guys but for now, Take care of yourselves.. Life is too short!

See you again dudes!

Real sorry to hear this Mani. I saw how pleased you were with your Cat at Tony's and how much effort you put into it. Don't be a stranger, save your pennies, get your Cat to the experts and come back bigger and better.

I feel your pain, mine went at 34,000 and 18 months prior to that, I had paid ten grand for the car, the only place that I could find that would recondition the engine wanted £3.5k which I refinanced my loan to pay, including an extra £1.5k for bits, I finish off paying the loan in september, a loan that i took out in 2005.

Hope that it all works out for you mate, nobody deserves that.

Mani can you not have a look at a standard lump to get you back on the road? Sure enough of us can get together and get it in for you

I have the engine out of my Ebony still Mani. Only done 76k. I'll text you a proposal :)

Really sorry to hear this Mani. As Rob says, get hold of a standard lump, new clutch and maybe a lightened flywheel and you'll be back on he road with a grin on your face. There are plenty here who will be willing to help, me included.
No reason for you to shy away from the forum or to miss Ford Fair. In fact, there's no reason why you shouldn't have it fixed by then, otherwise we'll have to Cougarforce you there.

I can understand you feeling down right now but once you have a plan in place you'll get your mojo back. (y)

Right, I've text Mani and he has been told there is an engine waiting to get him mobile. Things to sort are logistics and bodies :)

I was thinking that, but i aint got the knowledge that you amazing dudes posses on what to buy and what parts i need. Manos can tell you what a div I am. Its a good idea though dude. Thank you for all the support guys.

Really sorry to hear the news Mani - don't lose the faith dude. When my newly finished rebuild of GG's engine died I was heartbroken (and still am a bit - it was a bloody good engine) and thought it was the end of the world but with a lot of help and encouragement from the fine upstanding (?!?!) members of this wonderful club The Phoenix was born out of GG's ashes a few months later - It felt like forever and I had to go to 'Fest in a bleedin Picasso and borrow Mark's Cat for Ford Fair - but we ot there in the end - as I'm sure you will as well my friend (y)

Gotta love you guys. Thank you. I will think about it guys. i have money for kullys proposal but no knowledge as to how im going to get my cat up north. my wife wants to invite everyone over for food & drink, but this will mean mileage for everyone travelling to Buckinghamshire as i told my mrs.

Hold on there loondude, your too kind! i dont mind paying the cost of fuel to bring my car up north if anyone has some kind of tailor thingy? and free alcohol again?

We are as far as Mani has an engine :). Needs to be removed from my ebony shell in Daventry which I reckon we just dump the lot out on the subframe and take as is. Anyone able to help out with transport or pointing Mani in the direction of a cheap way of shifting it?

Also are we best organising the fit Mani's or has anyone nearby got access to a garage or even better a workshop we could rent/borrow for the day?
