After I had a good poke about around my cougar recently I spotted a good few things that needed sorting. First thing was rust. So I am going to be transforming my car starting this month and finished 1st week after bank holiday.
First plan was to kill off all the rust on the car. This has been done but requires two new wings as the bottoms have gone. So I currently have one replacement but the second one is on its way from Ford fair (thanks cougarforce!)
Second off is it needs to be lower so I have ordered a new set of Apex lowering springs to give it a 40mm drop.
3rd on the list is to fit the no limits kit I have in the shed. This is being done by the bodyshop.
4th is get the rear strut brace and s/s front bumper mounts from Mart
5th is replace the drivers door as mine has a crease in it. One has been sourced by the doughnut eating delboy
6th Wheels.. I dont like my BK wheels anymore and I had a set of 19" split rims from Mr duff that needed a lot of work. They had been bashed about a bit and needed a good clean up to restore them to former glory.
I also had tremendous problems finding the centre caps for them. I finally tracked down a firm in Belgium that managed to get me the 4 I needed. Cost? £125

I then set about getting them split down and sent to the powder coaters.
I have spent today rebuilding two of them after giving the bolts a good clean in the ultrasound (£350 for a set of new bolts wasn't an option!)
I just need to get some badges made up. I am getting some 50mm steel discs made then I'm going to be pestering uncle Al for some vinyl work.
After all this is done its off to the bodyshop for a spray job. Its not going to be the original purple I was looking at anymore. Its instead going to be done in Focus RS Frozen white.
Here is a photoshop of how it might look..
Check in towards the end of the month to see the progression!
