The end of the road

Strange to refelect on this thread after so long.

Scrapping Frosty was a real wrench, I poured so much into that car and was proud of the car I made, even now I still see people on here reading the old progress thread.

I can't convey how enormously guilty I felt about it, friends had travelled from afar and spent a whole weekend fitting the new engine in the name of saving the car, I recall I spent most of the journey home on the phone to those very people apologising for what I was about to do.

The reasons for me throwing in the towel are simple, in the space of a weekend I went from a fully sorted car that I loved driving - albeit with a rattly bottom end - to a car that in a single journey I knew was going to take shedloads of work just to get back to where it had been, it was no longer my car, just a knackered old Ford.

Loads of her parts went to fellow members and helped keep their cars on the road so I guess she has a legacy of sorts, when all is said and done thay are just cars, and all cars (well most) die one day.

As for now - owning Rich's car does indeed seem like a natural continuation of where I was with Frosty - this car is pretty much at the stage Frosty was before her demise and the driving experience is also bang on!

Parking up I find myself again sneaking a backwards glance at a great car, and am happy to be enjoying Cougar life once again, and with a great group of friends too :)
