What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Dabooka, that ARB you cleaned up, front, rear ? Diameter ? I've been looking for a better rear one for a while, if it's surplus to your requirements........
Sorry I gotta ask.

I can't find my verniers to measure, and it's quite difficult to distinguish it with my steel rule; it is only 2mm difference after all, which incidentally baffles me as to what kind of difference it would make anyway :).

It's just part of the rear end I stripped off my scrapper. My intention is to refurb all the parts so when I come to replace the existing one it'll be significantly quicker and easier. Once all of this virus malarky is over I'll be planning to get a lot of stuff dipped and painted with replacement bushes etc.

That's the plan at least....

A bit of a different Cougar, but I've just picked up this as a project car recently . Was lucky to find her, as these are even rarer than the NewEdge Cougars, a bit of work to do but she's mostly complete and thank fully was a California car so rust is minimal. I found her at such a good price (For over in Australia) that I couldn't pass it up!

The Greeno and Silver (Up top under the cover) is welcoming her new (old?) sister to the family

She's in good company and gets top spot next to the Falcon! (Under cover)

She's a 1969 Mercury Cougar with the 351 Windsor V8. The love is real for the Cougars!:devilish:

While on lockdown, made a start on a few jobs today. Changed front and rear shocks and springs lowering by 28 mm all round. Also changed both handbrake cables as my handbrake was pants! Made a vast improvement so I reckon over 21 years they may have stretched a little? Changed perished rubber exhaust mount which has been worrying me for a while! So happy days hopefully!!

Yes especially for an old timer like me!! Two more jobs on the list is: change those headers and get rid of that annoying thud behind the dash when I go over a bump!!

With all that ford plastic in that dash could be anything! I’ve tried and tried to track it down , had the dash apart numerous times! Seems to come from around the upper part by the left hand central vent area??

Pollen filter and housing was cleaned and renewed recently, engine mounts okay. Deffo from dash area! I was thinking on spraying expanding foam behind there, that will sort it once and for all !! Lol
