What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Do I detect a wind up ?:LOL::LOL: Nothing wrong with tape and glass fibre on the intake, especially if its out of sight ! (y) My three foot of bodge tube will flow more than 2 feet of bodge installed flexi.

Not so sure about tiger seal and the strut brace though. Not even rivnuts on mine, good old fashioned nuts n bolts through the three layers. Choose your battles guys, some things are worth doing right others just for fun and experimentation. :devilish:

For clarity, I write this in humour. I aint afraid to be a bit different and welcome the banter.

It's an old reference to someone who came on here a while ago and basically poured scorn on folk fixing rotten sills with such extravagant materials as metal, proudly professing that they could and should simply be filled with fibreglass. When people skilled in such matters attempted to point out the error of his judgement, he became quite stroppy and stomped off in a huff.

Matt, Wildcat's headlights look like that because Tim made sure they did, (though full disclosure - they aren't the ones that she left the factory with).

You can keep them - or C2 ones - this clear, but it takes effort. More effort as time goes by and you skim more and more surface off the polycarbonate.

My not-much-of-a-secret is that I leave her sunglasses on unless I need to go out in the dark. Which I don't. (y)

Relliot, I know the post you refer to. Having just bodged an intake with tape over the gaps and GF on the outside it felt kinda familiar.
All good either way.

Mako, I’ve never been a fan of sunglasses but you may have just converted me. She looks good, glad you got the grill you were after, those fog light look neat too.

Yes it was. But feel better for getting it done, and a few beers were drunk.
Hats off to whoever worked out that dropping only one side if the sub frame and jacking the engine up.

It wasn't me that gave that advice here, but I've done Mk1 Facelift (1996) Mondeo ones before and it was a case of splitting the subframe at the gearbox end, because otherwise you can't get the bolts out.

That car went to the crusher many years ago because T loaned it to her brother and he fu...returned it in less than pristine condition, which I'm still angry about. Who borrows something and returns it trashed?

Anyway, you have to do it this way otherwise you're chopping the wishbone bolts out and reinstalling them upside-down, which is no bueno. Nice one!

Hi All, Many thanks to Dabooka, yesterday, I de gunked the washer bottle as per his How to, today I thought Id try removing the sponges behind the rear door cards , thank you Shagmonkey for the How to, Ive only removed the off side and here are some photos of the inside, is this an unusually large amount of rust to find there? Ive sent off for some Hydrate 80 to spray on it , followed by Dynax 50s. Any tips on how to proceed are most welcome

Nah. Flood it (and the other side) with Bilt-Hamber Hydrate 80 or something similar and brush it around. Then once dry, squirt in the underseal of your choice.

Then do the same thing to her belly and arches. Lift each corner, remove wheels and arch-liners, and get insane with it. And, uh, wear gloves!

Ive seen much worse you've caught that just in time by the look of it... after putting the rust treatment on it id give it a paint with stonechip or zinc primer before spraying the dynax on it

Took a leisurely drive up to Lisa and Lee’s to collect a body kit. Thanks again to the pair of them for rescuing the parts and thanks to Dave for donating them to the club. [emoji482]
