What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Lost my Kaminari bonnet grill while i was polishing the bonnet, went out half way through, was gone when i got back GRRRRRR
is it inside the bonnet, it fell through on mine a couple of times before we swapped, falls backwards then slides forwards down the inside of the bonnet in the water tray (y)

It was Dyg. And it never materialised. Ball joint can be done, bushes can't

such a defeatest  My old wishbones are currently with a polybush supplier to see if they can make a kit to replace the bushes, told them they will have a big market if they can make them and make them to last (y)

I put my SVT LIM back on today. Maybe tomorrow i'll cable tie all the injector plugs then clean the UIM and refit that. Spent today caring for my daily ride, the Mondeo needed drive shafts.

That looks very nice!

Here in blustery Milton Keynes I've given both cars some attention, Mako is having some very bad fuel starvation issues which make her near undriveable one the tank gets down to a quarter, I've given her a new fuel filter ans swapped the throttle body to see what that does.

Swapped over one of the rubber door trims too as that was a bit ropey..

And inspired by Scarborough Steve's truly amazing engine bay I gave her a damn good clean under the bonnet!

And on my V6 I've just swapped over a yellowing headlamp for another that's extremely good indeed.

Beer time :)

Mako's problem sounds eerily similar to the problem Mofo had with Phoenix - and that was a split in the fuel feed pipe in the tank. When the fuel level dropped to the level of the split it was sucking in fuel and air. An ST200 V6 that struggled badly to get over the bridges at Silverstone.

Funny you should say that, I always had a problem once the computer told me I had 25 miles left. The car would hesitate when taking off, as though the pickup was out of the fuel as it surged backward.

I just assumed that the computer was being optimistic about the remaining range and never let it go below 1/4 tank (because I'm paranoid).

It might be that the fuel intake was cracked, and that crack is propagating upward, making the problem worse? You know where I am if you need a hand.

It's doing it on 50 miles currently, more than once now I've actually had to stop for a minute before continuing.

She also is generally hesitant throughout the rev range, and I think it's getting worse

I remember it well, that being my first Ford fair with the club too.

Don't suppose you remember what the fix was?

I seem to remember that it required a new fuel pump. Get those tin-snips out.

It was never that bad for me - not to the point I had to stop the car, just accelerate less vigorously. I'm thinking this is almost certainly developing into the same problem Iain had.

What kind of results did you get with the toothpaste mate?

It does work, but the foaming agents make it look better than it really is and it does wear off.

There's no replacement for doing it right. Go and spend £20 on the Meguiars headlight restoration kit. It's a bottle of PlastX and a lambswool polishing sock that you can put on a normal household drill. There's also a couple of 2500 and 3000 grit polishing pads included.

Tiger has now had this full treatment and I swear by it.
