What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

That sounds like your mega fuse might be shot.

Well just finished sorting Gems Cougar, traced the rough running down to the Throttle Position Sensor, changed that and now running beautifully, last week on her way to college the near side front Abs reluctor ring decided to snap and fall off, so that was my main job for today, luckily I had a spare so after chiselling off the remains of the old one got the replacement hammered on and then decided to fit cruise module as I had the wheel off so that's all done and back together, found a hole in the front of the sill so got some welding to do but need to practice first. Changed the pedal switches for the cruise ones and now waiting to see which wheel Gem plumps for and will then have a cruise control kit for sale (y)

Glad to hear this one's being looked after Paul

What's happening with your one buddy?

I'm umming and aring over mine mate, being out of work I need the money and selling my body kit, carbon fibre interior and the kaminari bonnet would at least keep the rent paid, its to good a car to scrap as it is almost completely rust free, did the same checks Tony did on goblin and its all clear, only rust I found is on the rear bumper cover mounting, it only really needs the brakes bleeding and refit some engine parts I borrowed for Gems Cougar and it should fly through its MOT, its just a time thing, I don't have any to spare

Sorry to hear you're out of work at the mo. You seem to have very transferable skills so hopefully you'll find something soon that doesn't require an insane cross-country commute.

What engine parts do you need? I mean, even if you have to go standard for a while I'm happy to help you get it back on the road.

Best regards to you, G and L.

Fuses, fuses. Heck what do I know about fuses. After all i'm only an Electrician. I'll check out the fuses tomorrow morning. If your right you may well go even higher in my opinion than they already are.

Sorry to hear your outta work mate. I thought you IT geeks where set for life. I could do with my own personal IT assistant just to get around windows 10. Hell there was nothing wrong with Vista.
Good luck with the job hunting, that's a full time job and if it aint you aint doin it right.

Nope. It's probably just as well, but it hasn't been that way for at least 20 years. IT is not a job where you can afford to sit still unless you support legacy IBM kit. /s

Every day is a learning day.

Amen. That's definitely how it should be.

Exactly right Chris,

exactly right Chris, unfortunately I was working in the NHS when the Government changed the IR35 rules so it cost me my contract, now I am trying to learn how to be an ethical hacker whilst job hunting (y)

Yeah, that was an "interesting" week. Chuck me your CV over Paul; I'll hook you up if I possibly can.

Drove her 100 miles to the airport (no leaks, yeah!)
Managed to keep it above 40mpg all the way there (42.6 being the highest but stayed mainly at 41.2)

The Zetec was great on fuel, but I'm really happy with that for a V6

Checked all of the fuses in the box under the glove box and the one at the battery. Is there anymore I don't know about ? I have to admit it is a little different this time in that the battery warning light came on. Previous 2 times first I knew was flat battery whilst driving !

the mega fuse is on the power lead from the battery to the alternator, it is in a little box roughly located where the EGR valve connected to the UIM
