What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

.............. so......what have you done to your COUGAR today? Btw, as well as getting DG regassed today, i finally got the correct concaved front ARB bushes which i will fit tomorrow. Whatever you do, don't fit the square profile ones with the concave clamps. A drive to Scotfest and back has worn them out to the point the ARB is scrubbing again.

ISO 5130 is the legal document in force at least until brexit

A 4 wheeled vehicle used on or after 1st Oct 1983 being:
Standard motor vehicle not exceeding 82dB
Plant locomotive/works vehicle / refuse truck not exceeding 89dB
Single Vehicle Autorisation test (SVA) Imported vwehicle only not exceeding 99dB

Microphone 50cm away from tail pipe, 20cm from ground level and at 45 degrees to tail pipe.
Car checked at tickover then checked 3 times at 3/4 power with no load on engine. ie 3/4 between 0 & red line so I guess there are a lot that fall foul to that

Not fitted yet but I have managed to acquire a brand new drivers seat base cover which, as a bonus came with new foam and heating element

This will be beast bound when time permits

Ooh, you cakey sod! How? Where?

So is your sigpic Steve

Did you see the original scale one? It's in this year's Castle Coombe picture thread. And although I don't like to shove sunshine up Steve's 'arris, I have to say I was suitably impressed; Tiger looks amazing.

No prizes for guessing this one. Btw, I notice that after I bought these off of eBay, that the price shot up by £6 ! They also took a fortnight to arrive. Methinks someone was thinking of not sending and hoping to just refund at the old price and then resell at the new price. But a stern message seems to have done the trick. Hope they are the right ones !

Well theyre definitely motorcraft. Not double platinum though?

Today was oil change day. Actually, oil change day should've been a month ago, but here we are.

Costco had 5w30 for £18 a pack, which was a bonus.

Double bonus, T pays the Costco bill, so I got my oil change for free. Heh-heh.

There is nothing better than a free oil change unless you can get a full re-spray for nothing!.

A good day yesterday. We established the fault for the AC is the clutch as we get cold air when bodged. We've attached the spoiler with Tiger Seal (ECP was the cheapest, as they've got a sale on. Who knew?!), I'll be releasing taht later today to see what it looks like. Finally we got the additional horn unit wired up ahead of the Euro trip.

Today I'm hoping to get the wheels painted (plasti-dip) and possibly wire up additional USB ports. I just need to get a couple on inline fuse holders.

Good work ! Very, very useful to know about the clutch ( and your research into where they can be obtained ). Thank you !

Today I finally changed my upper manifold gaskets.

The car ran ok with the old ones, but they were perished and the car felt lumpy and started awfully with them. On the advice of Mako and Matt, I finally got them in and did the swap. It was actually pretty easy. With the EGR loosened, I had enough play to take the old ones out and slot the new ones in. Since the car had been open for a rocker gasket changed, the manifold was already pretty clean, and I didn't see any lumps of carbon I needed to purge before placing the new ones in.

Started her up (and started bloody nicely), ran some tests, and she's golden!

I'll keep the board updated once it arrives and see if it fits. I'm also going to have a look and see what else is there, I've not checked but I wonder if they'll also supply the electro-magnet etc... :D

Today just a couple of minor things as it's been a day of cricket and shopping. I've removed the strapping applying pressure to the spoiler and that all looks good and solid, replaced the aerial for a short stubby thing, quickly cleaned the dash with some interior wipes and programmed a couple of fobs so we'll have one each (I think I'm also going to get another key cut). I must say I was very impressed, and they even came with batteries.

Looking good. Often think the Cougar looks a bit "naked" without a rear spoiler (y)
