I finally found the last of my Aberdeen Photos
A replacement heater dryer motor from a '97 1.8 Mondeo.
Jamie got stuck.
I show him how it's done.
My heater dryer motor installed.
I need to replace this part, but I don't know what it's called so can't order a replacement. It's some kind of air flow valve. Can someone please help?

have you checked for air leaks around the throttle body and inlet manifolds or any of the surrounding pipe work ?? could be worth a check buddy can be done very easily with a tin of carb or brake cleaner , have the car idling and carefully spray the carb cleaner around the throttle body , inlet manifold and all the vaccume pipes around the inlet manifold and the throttle body , be very careful not to spray near exhaust pipes or any other sorces of ignition , if the revs rise you have a leak at the offending item you have sprayed . hope this is some help
hello just had a look at the pics looks cool 8) just a question my gear linkage looks like yours except i am missing one of the orange thingys, are they important? doesn't seem to make a difference :?

I'm no expert, but if the gearbox feels right to you than you will probably be alright. If worried you could probably get a replacement on the cheap from a scrappy. The linkage will be shared with a simular vintage Mondeo.
