Coug with a Subaru spoiler

Not for me mate far too flat IMO that said a lot of people didn't like my mgtf spoiler but I did hence one day I'll have another on her.

Only pic I have on photobucket, but that's the car that had one on it. About 5 years ago it was, didn't look so bad in person but not something I'd do to my car.

I like it, I think it is good to be different, do what you like, it does not matter what anyone else thinks to be honest. If you really like it go for it. I know I would if it was me but then I dont care if people don't like what I have done with my car ( and I know there are many who just dont like my car) but there are also many who do. Do what feels right to you. Good luck with it.

As has been said Si, i think a couple of side view pics and perhaps one from the front looking back over the boot might paint a better picture.
From the pics you've posted, i like the spoiler but not sure if it compliments the curves of the Cougar tbh.
But it's your car Si. If you like it, go for it mate (y)

Si, in my opinion mate (an it is only my opinion..for what it's worth), I think you'd need a full-on bodykit to go with that spoiler. I think on it's own it would look lost and like others have said, would spoil the lines of the Coug. However, it's all down to personal preference and what you like that counts. Best of luck with whatever you decide mate.

Right guys, I have taken some more photos (will be added in a couple of hours), not sure if they help or not. I dont think the full look is correct as it is not flush or level a the moment due to the bolts and the tin of tuna holding it level!

However, having looked at it again.....i am starting to like it more again....so in good old fashion tradition i may well ignore the concensus and fit it!

Pics to follow soon.

Not for me Si, it's too flat in comparison to the bootlid/rear wings. Also from a technical viewpoint, the mounting bolts won't fit in the same place as the OEM spoilers, and where they do bolt up the tailgate is double skinned, so you'll need to drill some extra holes underneath to get access to the bolts to get the nuts on them.

If you decide to go ahead with it mate, fair play to you, as has been said before, it's your car, and you're the one who has to be happy with it.

As in the car / spoiler package overall doesn't look like they were drawn with each other in mind - sorta like the previous Renault Megane where they drew that funky rear window then someone remembered they needed a boot, or the Fiat Multipla which looked like the top and bottom halves were drawn by two people who'd never met.

To my eyes anyway... your milage may vary. :)

Al, what do you reckon about the fitting side of, being as your services have been begged for?

Cosmetics and opinions aside, my biggest concern is the mounting bolt access, as Stibo has already mentioned. It's a million miles from impossible, but i would need to see it first hand Si. As for the "look" I am borderline, the overhead shot from the left does make the shape and suits the tailgate shape. You'd get a much better idea of how it will look, if you can take the studs out, or are they bonded in.
Overall, because it is so different and lets face it, not many cougars have this spoiler fitted! do they! :) I would say go for it, but be prepared to buy a spare tailgate, just incase you change your mind later. It's much easier, quicker and cheaper, to swap a tailgate than it is to start filling holes. (y)
