My new install thread

Well box is almost built and thought I would trial fit it in the car before putting it together properly with glue etc.

After trying all of this it still would not go into the car which ever way we tried, box took apart and being built in the car now real ball ache lol.

Cheers guys Box is over 20cuft before displacements its huge and made from one inch thick MDF should be built this weekend apart from some fibre glassing to be done on the top to maximise air space, then next job is to mount all ten batterys.

how many??:yikes::yikes:

lol ten batteries at 60 ish ampere hours each should give the alternator a slighty easier time altho am going to really need to watch the voltages the wattage (true rms) will be 8000w RMS amps total fuse rating is somewhere around 900 amps assuming they draw half on average that means they are trying to take almost four times the power the alternator can produce at full speed.

And that doesn't even cover it!! All that, and in the rain too!! Could be worse, we coud be doing a second one that is going to need nearly as much stripping out of the car and tediousness of a box being built!

Hold on, we are..................:mad2: :mad2: :mad2: :mad2:

It's all changed again Matt!! The kit will be going on in March hopefully, providing I can get the paint I have seen. Audio should be finished by April fingers crossed.

well I guess I should update this a little as it turns out my box is slightly over size by .4cuft per sub so bit of filling in the box to do to use some size with timber but means i can add bracing to ensure it is rock solid and has no flex which is good as more noise!.

Wiring is now almost done for the audio not even started the media side of it yet tho seems like everytime I tick a job off I realise there are ten million more to do.

Any questions ask away.
Bracing for roof mounted equipment and to help the roof stop flexing so bad
