My new install thread

JJ, have you had to alter the suspension set up - as looks like there is going to be loads more weight in there???

Tony I used chopped strand as supposedly it works better than sheet version?? just went on what I was told and have a big bundle of it now.

Suspension is having custom rear springs to cope with approx 300kg over the standard rear springs of a cougar and will be standard ride height to give more movement than the lowered ones also the wheels I have to go on will not currently fit due to the rear arch sitting on the tyre.

The matrix is a signal booster of sorts it allows me to manually alter the strength of signal going to the amps it will take 3 pairs of signals in and is going to be sending 4 pairs of mono ouputs to the sub amps and 4 pairs of stereo outputs to the amps to power door speakers, it also allows me to introduce clip safely for short periods to gain extra noise from the subs without risking damage to them.

Well finally some update!, matrix is in and working mounting in the roof was genius even if I do say so my self gives me so much adjustability for when playing say Leona Lewis and then changing to Dubstep or Evanescence etc I can adjust the sub output or mids/tweeters just by reaching up brilliant!.

The new front end is in and running fully active no passives in there at all (altho they look so cool I am going to dummy mount them with false wiring to show them off.) it sounds awesome still need to do lots as always biggest job at the moment is chasing the rattles and resonance's in the panels even tho it has 4mm thick deadening almost everywhere there are still lots of buzzing panels mainly the tailgate from when the old system has seperated it so lots of expanding foam to fill any gaps in the tailgate itself/rear quarter panels basically anywhere I can to cut out resonance.

Will put some pictures up later of the wiring So far I think there is maybe 200-250 metres of wires running up and down the car still with a little more to be added.

JJ - have you removed your sig piccy??? as all I can see is a white box with a red cross in it??? tried refreshing and clearing the cache - but still no go?? Everyone elses sigs are showing??

I was linking to the guy who made it I forgot to save it to my own account so have had to send a pm to see if he still has it for me to save myself:giggle:
Pics as promised ...

volt guages in one at rear near amps one at the battery bank overkill maybe but why not

Well my other set of comps for the doors will be with me wednesday so thats 450 watts RMS per door so 900 watts RMS for the front end alone along with some tweeters that are 106db efficiency in addition to the ones in the A pillars they come with a health warning and weigh about the same as a bag of sugar each the tweeters that is! they will be mounted on a switch and fully controllable from the matrix to tame them then when at shows with the doors open turn them up.
