Red C2 on Ebay

I wonder if the twin exhausts were from new?
Was that ever an origianl option on a Cougar (worldwide)?

I have it listed in a brochure as 'std' on an 'S' Cougar.

Wil, the ST200 was going to have twin pipes with round exits.

Is there a maker's name on the end pipes or the back boxes?

Going by the shape and size of the exhaust tips, it looks like it has a Blueflame exhaust.
There are plenty of Bluefames on members cars like mine, Chris' and Tony's so we could do a comparison at Fest to confirm, but I'll put money on it being a Blueflame.

Can't see any maker's name on either.

It maybe that the exhaust, pedals, badges were fitted as 'S' options.
So, I should check the engine is 'standard' and not a 196 'S'.

Your recovery company were quite besotted with it, Will

Rightly so! I dare say a Blueflame system is more valuable than the cars they're on now. Wish they were still around. I'd be looking at them quite seriously.

Amazing, how did you come across that?!
Adam did a great job, would recommend him, if anyone wants details...

So, if it's defo a B/F exhaust would that have been fitted after original purchase or was it ever a Ford option?

The S or ST200 cougar, never actually went into production afaik, it was a paper exercise only, even tho the parts catalogues and brochures were produced as such, it does look like a Blue Flame to me too tbh

Blue Flame only ever used badges or stickers, the badges were welded on the tips but the stickers usually faded and looked scabby so got removed

I'd put money on that being a BF exhaust. The "S" stuff is definately on the parts list at ford parts depot and parts were produced for the car even though it was never produced itself. Iirc i bought some parts for Lewy a few years back.

Ford's Etis site says it's the standard 170PS engine Will.

Back to Blue flame, mine came with some rather tacky flame logo stickers on each tip but I peeled them off. They wouldn't have lasted well with the heat and British weather.
