What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Last year it had standard lights fitted but the 3rd light had a cougar sticker on it, the tester removed it!
This year I need all the help I can get, don't really want to be sitting on 2 MOT failures (y)

When Wildcat used to go for the mot, I just used to unplug the 3rd rear brake light, as had a mask on it. Just told the mot garage that it didn't work, they were fine with that. Once passed the mot, just plugged back in again (it's easy to get to).

I think that some people just replace what they need to while they're in there. Been there, done that because I was stupid. The logic is that parts have a cost associated with them so why replace something you don't have to?

And I get that, but honestly, while you have everything dismantled, why not replace everything that needs it?

If anyone needs help from me and that help requires additional parts? If I trust and respect you I will never leave you adrift.

I think my challenge, and where I really need expert feedback and guidance from you chaps, is figuring out what is either a) knackered and needs replacing, b) works but should be replaced or c) is fine and good to retain. Some things (like that spring!) I can figure out, and I have read on here about the top mounts being best replaced but other bits I'm not so sure on.

Of course, part the fun of having the car is refurbishing and fixing things. :)

I always look at it this way, if its a PITA to replace something and im working in that area ill try to replace as much as possible save taking it all apart again, hell its probally 20 years old at this point replacing it wont hurt

Then made a start refrubing the C2 lights...still to be finished but coming along

Finished this off this morning, far from perfect but much better than before

So I went to start Nerd today, just a lot of clicking then the full dial sweep. I'll get the battery back on charge..again.

Good news though, my radio came back to life!!

Scott, get yourself over to Tayna.com. And don't restrict yourself to 096 batteries because 100s will fit and tend to be cheaper.

If your battery has got to the point where it's discharged (and if it's multiple times) so deeply that it won't start the car, there is a risk that you've got mineral salts building up on the lead plates. It will either stop taking a charge, or will short out, overheat, and sperge acid all over the place.

Your call, but don't bother trying to work with a battery that has done its time.

Cheers chaps
I'll have to look for the receipt, it's only a year old

MOT failed [emoji3525]
Most of it bullshit stuff. Already have the bushes and corrosion fail is just a bit of welding as apparently it wasn’t done properly last time.

Apparently the welding is a seam that wasn’t done last time.
Headlights were fine last year but it seems the test has changed [emoji849]
