What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Thats what ive found that prevention is better than cure :)

Hoping to get the inner sills finshed off tomorrow, if I would have stayed on top of them they wouldnt have got this bad

You know. You know that you must fix the problems because if you don't, your girl's gonna rot out.

I've just done the minimum for now since the weather hasn't been the best before. I'm just doing what I can for now.

Really looking forward to seeing her with a solid underside.

Well, my old girl has been neglected recently but Modding started up again today,

Fitted DRL to the c2 head lights, have 2 options... undecided at the momemt though

2x blue halo with Indicators running ( need to sort why the whole strip isnt) then later fit another headlight where the indicator was (idea i got from Chris @ Fest)

Or 2x blue halo with a white LED DRL

Carried on with work on the sills

Painted the inside of them with primer..doesnt look pretty but should do the job

Paint on one section of the outer sill was bubbling with rust, didnt take a pic before but took it back to metal with a dremel

Just need to stonechip it all later once dry

I gave the Cougar a wash yesterday as the weather was nice, when I went to hoover inside I noticed a small pool of water on the passenger side mat. So after the hoovering I pulled the wiper coweling off took out the cabin Filter and saw a bit of staining where the water had Ingressed I had a feel around and there was years of composting leaves and dirt blocking the drain I got the bulk of it out but then enlisted my wife with her smaller hands to have a poke around and after five minutes and a good flushing with a hosepipe the drain was clear and running fast. I refiited the pollen Filter which was still like new having been changed back in October. Refitted the cowling dried the passenger mat then gave the area near the screen a good dousing with the hose and all is well no leaking. Well cuffed with myself and of course my glamorous assistant.

Went balls in and tried to install an ST200 UIM and LIM this weekend. Figured with the Honda, I barely depend on the Cougar.

Seemingly ****** it up somewhere and now it's an even bigger heap than it was before
Not to mention that the door handles are making the alarms go off all day every day

oh dear mate...whatta u done...or should i say whats it not doin.

are u sure its not the bonnet switch making the alarm go off...if the rubber boot is split water can get in there and do nasty things..

this weekend i fitted a quick shift gear stick....and discovered it then wouldn't go into second...
hence ive been under the car messing with the cable adjusters....right got that sorted.

just pulling myself out from under melina and noticed the front wheel move....s*%t...bearing play...
thought id see if the hub nut would take up the slack and it turned a full turn b4 getting tight.
no noise from the bearing and the play has gone...is this normal? or is it time to fit some wheel bearingso_O

Sounds like the engine flooded itself when I turned the crank. Gonna assume the fuel pressure hadn't fully restored. Really hoping that the injectors aren't leaking. Might also be because I'm counting on the UIM to hold the injector plugs on as I couldn't work a way to get the pin clips to fasten the plugs.

I don't know. Probably rushed it, to be fair

As for the alarm, the bonnet rubbers look ok. The handles done spring back into place though, and I'm wondering if that's causing it. Both of them do it, so I've had to disconnect the battery all weekend

Hub nuts have been known to come loose if not torqued properly...and the nut should be used no more than 4 times iirc.

Okay. Where do we go from here? I need to fix this, and it seems like it's weeing fuel.

Does sound like the UIM needs to come back off to me. Pinched seal maybe?

Surely this has to be the chief suspect?

Can't investigate until next weekend. From what I can see, the farthest left injector is leaking fuel at the top when the crank is turned.

I'll get around to it. Got an ST220 TB to throw on now to complete the task when I do. Should it ever drive again, it should be fun. Spent last night putting the wheels back on and getting it off the stands. Pretty glad I did, Doris is whipping Essex with wind atm

In the end, I used my stock injectors as I don't want to remap the car for a while and I'm concerned about overfuelling. I feel like this was the sensible decision
