What Have You Done to Your Cougar Today?

Out of interest, what happens when you use the key in the passenger side? Does unlocking the passenger side also unlock the driver's door? (Cos it should :))

Or I'm also wondering if it's simply that the remote is no longer programmed to the car for some reason...

Mart, the remote was never programmed to the car. It's Tiger's NS door on Dan's motor.

Something screwy going on, but we've got the parts and time to play.

Our cars are all about character. I have on a couple of occasions had to ring work and tell them I have arrived in the car park but I can't get out my car again

Put the rear end of Jane back together when I got home and got her set back on all 4 wheels instead of the back being on jackstands. While I was at it I topped off the air in the tires and then took Luci's wheels back off the blue turd and put them back where they go instead of Luci sitting on stands in the drive.

Out of sheer boredom I found myself cleaning the ARB I removed from the scrapper. I remembered I had some chassis paint, so I removed all the surface rust, a quick going over with some Jenolite rust remover and then coat of paint;

Stripped and prepp'd, a bit of pitting but nothing bad at all.

And after..

I didn't bother taking a before picture so imagine a rusty ARB and you know what I started with! Actually it was also coated in what I think was some Hammerite but it hadn't bonded at all and was easy to remove.

When I got the scrapper it was described a Roush ARB (?), and there were some numbers on it which I stupidly forget to make a note of. Oh well.

Now to find something else to tinker with...

Fitted my new engine cover courtesy of Geoff (ggsumo).

I'd previously decided I didn't want the duplicate engine info and after failing to find an original blank cover for the IMRC I thought I'd give it the chance to 'breathe' a bit more freely.

Tried it like that Rich, but it proved very difficult to match the cut in the plastic to the 'wavy' line between the holes at the ends of the mesh. Thought doing it this way was the best compromise. (y)

Drop links again today.
I always use Delphi drop links so was a bit disappointed that the ones fitted to the C2 lasted about 4 months before the clunking returned. Took them off today and discovered they are fakes and very poor quality, I didn't notice when I fitted them that they don't have the Delphi logo on them. I had an old pair of genuine Delphi's that were only used for a few thousand miles so I fitted them with some new poly bushes I had knocking about (not used these before so I'm interested to see how long they last), took her for a drive, silence

Seems to be a problem with some fake Delphi stuff at the moment, I had exactly the same issue with some I bought for the Focus, first bump they went crack! They used low grade bolts

I started cleaning my ST200 UIM. Even knowing it was going to be a horrid job, I did not fully prepare myself!

Should get it finished tomorrow, so I'll post up some pics then. Along with some questions no doubt....
