i do 4 1/2 miles to work in morning when i do tend to let it go and then same distance home in evening but normally in traffic then, so engine barely has time to fully warm up...

Been down to Blackpool today with the car and boot full, 162 mile round trip and used just over half a tank. 22.9 on the way down (full tank) and settled on 24.2 on the way back. Sat nav said I averaged 91.2mph on the way down and 89.3mph on the way back (think that must be broken though as I never gan ower 70)
Been to Lake district & back, 460 miles & averaged 32.9, & by the way, we only saw one other cougar there, back & up there !
Mine averaged between 30 and 31 with the aircon on; been running with if off for a while and now get between 33 and 34.
In reply to the thread title:........Whatever it likes, i take no notice, I put petrol in the tank when it needs and drive.

Me too. I went down and up 4 flights of stairs for to check for you Liquid, I hope you appreciate it!
I drive 2 miles to work, up hill in the morning and it showed 14.9

commuting I get 29-30. 35 mile round trip. I used to get 31-32mpg but I've changed wheels and tyres so my rolling radius is a bit out. the wife pointed that out to me when I started to worry I might have a problem with increased consumption 
around town average 18, motorways average 24 on an RAF station runway 7mpg for everything else there is mastercard
