Shagmonkey made me cry!!!

some great work there, looking excellent ! hopefully can get mine looking something like, it's off the road end of august, few months in the garage, try and have it ready for show season next year, might actually attend a few !

have you tried 3m trizact discs ? we use the 3000 ones at work, really are good, when doing blow ins and polishing !

The gutting thing is, his headlight height adjustment switch doesn't light up ! Very odd, so I removed my centre console and gave him my switch.......but that still didn't work in his car. Tried it back in mine and it works fine...tried it again in Alans and nothing. I don't have the time to investigate this annoying gremlin.

Some very nice work there. Very Impressive.
As for the headlight adjustment lamp. It doesn't work because Ford forgot to put a wire in the loom. (Earth return i think)

If you make this connection the bulb will light up :)

Paul, thanks for sharing this well documented/photographed transformation with us, it is fascinating to watch the difference, all your hard work is making to Al's cat.(y)

The results you are achieving, are simply stunning mate!

With any luck, this will finally put an end to Al's rants about the state of his car lol........................the lucky man!:)

Don't worry Mark, there's still plenty I need to do. This will just tide me over for a week or two :)
I would love to have done it all myself. But I know my limitations. Apart from choosing the colours, materials and tearing a goodly chunk of the insides out, it's all Pauls work.
So I'm going to have to do something to it to make it mine again :)
Rode home from my nightshift in the pooring rain on the Blade. I miss my car :D

Now it's looking so tidy, are you still thinking of setting fire to the bonnet mate??

Wow ...amazing turnaround mate, I love the reflection shots too :)
And how the hell did you correct that rear bumper ? your a genius mate :p

Not seen it in the flesh yet. The reality is yes. I probably will :)

I've still got to get a big dent on the rear quarter fixed, filled and sprayed. And some alloys I'm collecting from John on the way back from Pauls refurbed.
Then I can start on the next proper mod ;)

Wow! Fantastic results there Alan's cat is looking amazing. I wish I had the time and patience to do this sort of thing to mine. (y)

Next question, when shall I drop mine off?:geek:

Great work Paul, you must have the patience of a saint.(y) Al, you'll have your work cut out keeping your Cat that shiny.:cool:

The LED's are all in a sealed rubber sleeving/coating so not much chance of fixing them I'm afraid. As I said though mate, you need to be looking right at them and very close to spot. I didn't see it when I test fitted them and only spotted them afterwards as I was taking some photos... lol

The Dashboard brightness adjuster switch is the one that doesn't have an earth from the factory, not the headlight adjustment one. I know because I added an earth from the dashboard brightness switch to the headlight adjustment switch (which has 2 earths funnily enough) and et voila!....the light came on.
Why the headlight one doesn't work I don't know. As I said I put my switch in and didn't work....yet it works fine in my car. Oh well.

Headlights to be re-attacked tomorrow night and re-fitted......and (fingers and toes crossed) the hyper bright dashboard bulbs arrive Wednesday....so the interior can be put back together before Alan sees it.

Then I can sit down and have a large stiff drink to recouperate (sp) from all this hard work!!

Thanks for all the nice comments chaps. Anyone want anything doing, just ask, but I wont be able to do this amount of work in such a short space of time again as I can't take any more holiday from work.

Cheers

Paul

Fair enough, just let me know where you got them from then chap and I'll pop the fogs myself and put a fully working set in.
I have train tickets in my wallet :)

Well today is the day I get my cat back. This thread has been a rollercoaster of emotion.
I've read about the shocking state of various bits and then a picture goes up and I don't recognise the car :)
The work that has gone into my cat has been unbelievable and I can't say thank you enough. So I guess I'll have to pay up instead (y)
I'll be dropping round Pauls (jmc123) on the way home to collect some 18" rims :) and then maybe the modding can stop.....perhaps ;)
Pictures to follow (tomorrow) it's going to be a long train ride to get her!!

I will. All I need now are some skirts, lowering springs, new tyres, dents removing, bumper respray, St brake upgrade, ridiculous sound system...........oh dear ;)
