Shagmonkey made me cry!!!

Al, the car will be 90 per cent of the way there thanks to Paul's unbelievably outstanding handywork. I bet it feels like it runs better as well. Its all in your head, but when a car looks good it makes a huge difference.

Well it looks like it is going to rain any moment.....so naturally I got out the jet washer and washed, shampooed and towel dried his car lol

Let the car air dry for a bit, then (if it isn't raining by then) re-wax the whole so it will be as shiny as when I finished it on Sunday.
Living out in the countryside means the cars get covered in soooooo much pollen every day, that allready his car was looking dull. Grrrr. Oh, and I wont mention the huge seagull **** on the front windscreen !!

Then it's simply a case of waiting for the postman to arrive (about 1pm) to see if the bulbs have arrived so I can put the dash back together!!

Well he left mine at just gone 6pm and he did indeed seem very happy.

The bulbs arrived today in the post (2pm) and seeing as I was collecting him from Chichester train station at 3pm, I had a very quick dash assembly to get it all ready for him. It kept raining also so that made life a bit more of a pain.

However, she was as gleaming as she was ever going to be when he saw her which was great.....2 mins later the heavens opened up !

During a break in the weather we managed to get his COUGAR logo done on the back of his car and also polish up his rear lights.
I commented that his dull tinted lights were letting his car down, but that I didn't want to polish them up through fear of polishing away the tint. Alan then kindly reminded me he had actualy told me when he dropped off the car that they were lacquered :giggle:

So, straight out with the polisher and the Meguirs Plast-RX and a few buffs later they were nice and shiny (y)

Overall he seemed very pleased with the car and couldn't wait to see his new interior at night. I did warn him it was like having a UFO on the drive whenever I opened to door at night :)

Time for me to relax and de-stress now as I was still busy doing stuff at midnight last night o_O
 
Well Al, I'm green with envy mate, Paul has done a superb job with your Coug and that Ebony paintwork is shining like a black diamond. Paul - fanastic job mate, alot of hard work has gone into that, I thought mine was shiny....no where in comparison to Al's car. Also liking what you have done with the fogs i.e. cleaning them up, I will have to have a go at mine when I have the time....
 
After seeing Al's cougar tonight, i have to say i'm impressed!
I was a little dubious with all of those LED's in the roof lining but it does look really good.
The bodywork is amazing, it looks like a mirror and it feels like glass.
I'm very jealous of the LED fog lights, i'm going to have to think of a way to fit them to my car.
I can see me taking my dash apart this weekend and painting it black:LOL:
 
I must admit, the LEDs in the fogs look a million times better in the flesh than they do in photos.

Because I gave him my fogs because his LEDs were not working properly, my car now looks awefull !!
Two gaping holes where fog lights should be !! boo sob sob

Really impressed with all the effort Paul !. Think you may be getting a few more customers after seeing the level of shine that can be acheived. The ebony does look stunning don't think I've seen a tourmalline detailed yet so you may get some more business yet!!!.
 
Not a bad effort Paul really - lots of room for improvement so i shall grade it a C+ for now:LOL::LOL::LOL:

Oh and the fog mod - i have consulted my solicitor and i have a guaranteed claim to make........:angel::geek:
 
Well I'm home. Shiney Cougar on the driveway. The wife approves of the interior light show and especially the fuel gauge ;)

It's a pleasure to run a finger over the paint, it feels fabulous. Glassy smooth and silky. Paul wasn't kidding about finding all the paint imperfections so the shopping list is get the big dent repaired, and a respray on the bumper. Other than that I'm leaving well alone (unless someone has an ebony passender door handle). The scuffs and dents it carries are the badges of age. And any respray I got that I could afford/justify I would bet wouldn't have the finish Paul has given me.

Inside is fantastic. A proper light show. I kept switching on the interior light on dark stretches of motorway just for the full effect. Slightly lost tho by having 5 sodding great 18" wheels in the car with me. Thanks John (y) The dark plastics and brushed stainless dials and hvac kit look very classy imho. The roof liner and parcel shelf tie everything together.
So I am also awarding myself a putty medal for choosing the interior decor and colourings :)

Mods for the morning. Fit a foglight bulb. One is out :(
Fit resistors in the sidelights. The telltale will bug me...unless I just paint that out. Not decided yet ;)
Set to on the wheels and see what I can make of them as a temporary fix until funds permit a refurb.

Discovered a Tax disk renewal when I got in, and remembered it's insurance renewal as well next month so it might have to wait a little.

And on that note. I think it's bed time. Been a very long day.

I'm hoping the fog light might just be me not connecting the plug (concentrating on the LEDs too much), as my car passed it's MOT a few weeks ago and the fogs haven't been used since. I would therefore be suprised if a bulb has gone, but who knows with these bloomin cars !! Anything seems to be possible !
I'm also wondering if this is what is triggering the bulb out warning light??

Anyone have a green cat they want me to play with......interested in what I can do with a Greenie (Don't say roll it, lick it and flick it please) !

Shagmonkey what do you do for a living out of interest. Sorry if it sounds nosey just was wondering if it was anything related to cars etc

Well would you beleive it, but I don't do anything with cars. I work for IBM as a project manager.....and yes I hate it.....yes it's boring....the pay is ****....you get dumped on all day long by high level management promising you the world and then delivering sweet FA......but it's good job security (It's not like IBM are going to go bust overnight)......and I do get good benefits........plus it (just) pays the bills.

I would love to have a nice little lock up near Goodwood somewhere and detail classic/modern cars for a living, but this is never going to happen, but hey, we all need a dream.

Why not? Only thing stopping you is you! Put your mind to it and you can achieve anything (y) It's clear that you have the skill to do it!
